Corinth Pipeworks, a subsidiary of Cenergy Holdings, has signed an agreement to manufacture and supply steel pipes for Israeli State Gas Distribution Company (Israel Natural Gas Lines) (INGL) for the subsea section of a new high-pressure gas pipeline between Ashdod and Ashkelon.

Chevron, after acquiring Noble Energy and operating the Leviathan and Tamar offshore gas fields, has agreed with INGL to provide gas transmission services.

This new pipeline system, in addition to the expansion of other existing gas distribution lines, will allow Chevron and its partners to transport up to 7 billion cubic meters of gas a year to Egypt.

The new contract covers approximately 50 kilometers of LSAW steel pipes with an outer diameter of 36 inches and includes anti-corrosion coating and cement coating. The production will take place at the facilities of Corinth Pipeworks in Thisvi, Boeotia, within 2021. The installation of the pipeline is scheduled to start in 2022.

According to the company, this assignment is another important milestone that confirms the strong position of the Corinth Pipeworks for underwater projects in the Southeastern Mediterranean region, and follows the successful completion of the Leviathan and Karish deep gas pipelines.
