
The measures to support the food service industry at the level of Local Government in view of the restart of the industry, on May 3, were tabled during a teleconference held by the Deputy Minister of Interior, Stelios Petsas, with representatives of EstiasiGreece and the participation of Deputy Minister of Interior Stavros Kalafatis, and the head of the Office of the Prime Minister in Thessaloniki, Maria Antoniou.
Mr. Petsas referred to the possibility of suspending municipal fees and pointed out that the relevant decisions are taken by the municipal councils, as well as that an effort is made, in cooperation with the Union of Municipalities (KEDE), for uniform application of the regulation.
Regarding the possibility of settling all the debts created during the health crisis, from February 2020 until the end of February 2021, in up to 100 installments, Mr. Petsas stated that the relevant platform will be operational in the coming days and if necessary, a new extension will be granted so that everyone can be regulated.
“Our concern is to do what is necessary to facilitate the real economy and for this purpose we will use all the financial tools we have available,” the deputy interior minister underscored.
For their part, the representatives of restauranteurs raised the issue of licensing of common areas and the seashore, as well as the exceptions that arise for the reopening of specific businesses due to an Business Activity Code Number.
In this context, Mr. Petsas announced that in the coming days the Joint Ministerial Decision will be issued to determine the terms and conditions for the concession of the seashore for the year 2021.
