Another emblematic project, that of the creation of the Ecological Park in Faliriko bay, is part of the Public Investment Program (PDE) 2021 and the procedures for its immediate implementation are proceeding within the framework of the 2nd Phase of the Regeneration.
As the Governor of Attica G. Patoulis announced in close cooperation with the competent Deputy Minister Ioannis Tsakiris, the project is part of PDE 2021 for the Region with 200 million euros earmarked for the project and the procedures are ongoing so it can be auctioned so it can join as mature and contracted in the under preparation a new developmental plan for the Attica region 2021-2027, which is expected to be approved by the EU at the end of the year, according to a relevant announcement.
As the Governor pointed out, with steady steps, the Attica Region and its officials have managed through strategic planning and a methodical preparation to ensure the inclusion, in the Public Investment Program, of both the creation of the Ecological Park in Faliriko bay and the Paraolympic Rafina Pikermi Sports Center. These two important projects, as he stressed, will contribute decisively to the vision of making Attica a Model Region.
The project
The creation of the Ecological Park in Faliriko Bay, with a budget of 200 million euros, has been planned for the Second Phase of the rehabilitation of Faliriko. The renovation is included in the emblematic projects of the Attica Region which will be included in the new Attica 2021-2027 under preparation. The financing of the Park by the Public Investment Program contributes to its faster implementation.
According to the plan, the project concerns renovations, building infrastructure and facilities in Faliriko Bay. The main axes of regeneration are the promotion of Nature, Science, Culture, and Sports. The project will contribute to the environmental and aesthetic upgrade of the area as well as to the improvement of the quality of life. It will also provide green spaces and access to Faliriko Bay.
“Attica is changing its face. With strategic planning and methodical preparation, the Attica Region ensured the inclusion of the creation of the Ecological Park in Faliriko bay in the Public Investment Program. We worked methodically and with a plan, in order to proceed quickly with the process of implementation of an emblematic project that will contribute to the improvement of the quality of life and the environmental upgrade of Attica as a whole,” said the Regional Governor.
“The goal is to make Attica a model region with a human face and fully functional for its citizens. The creation of the Ecological Park in Faliriko bay with a budget of 200 million euros, contributes in this direction and confirms our will for Attica to go to a new development course. The project is part of a comprehensive program of urban and incidental regeneration which is funded by the recovery fund, from NSRF resources but also from private initiatives.”
