Lufthansa report tripling of reservations within past week for three Med destinations, include Greek isles

Lufthansa and its low-cost subsidiary, Eurowings, this week reported a tripling of reservations for flights to three southern Med destinations, namely, the Greek islands, the Balearic Islands and Italy.

Reservations towards destinations in the United States, meanwhile, increased by roughly 300 percent, the German carrier said.

Lufthansa pointed mainly to progress in vaccination campaigns in the holiday destinations, as well as to Berlin’s decision to lift a mandatory obligation of self-quarantine for those returning from “at risk” areas.
