In the coming days, the new announcement for the sale of the Hellenic Shipyards S.A. (Skaramangas) shipyards is expected to be made public, from the special liquidation without any change in the terms of the tender, apart from a tighter time frame for the submission of bids.
Information states that the time given for the submission of bids will be around 20 days as, according to market sources, as the government wants it to proceed relatively quickly.
Also on the same days, the announcement form Hellenic Public Properties Company (HPPC) S.A. is expected to be issued for the rest of the shipyards, where a minimum price will remain in the terms as this is provided for by the relevant legislation. The minimum price will be clearly reduced compared to the previous 55 million euros.
It is recalled that only Pyletech Shipyards, a subsidiary of the North Star Group, belonging to interests of the shipowner-businessman Theofilos Priovolos submitted a substantial tender for the under special administration Skaramangas shipyards.
The company has also announced that it will make a total investment of 700 million euros in the shipyards and will create more than 1,600 direct and 6,000 indirect jobs with a significant multiplier value in employment, public revenue, GDP, and the national and local economy.
A symbolic offer of one million euros was submitted by ONEX, which controls the Syros shipyards and seeks to take full control of the Elefsina shipyards.
No interest had been expressed in the tender for the HPPC property.
