In a letter to the Minister of Development Adonis Georgiadis and the Minister of Tourism Haris Theocharis, the President of the Central Union of Chambers of Greece (KEE) and EVEA Konstantinos Michalos stresses the need to plan new actions through the National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF) for the activity of companies in the fields of alternative tourism, in order to achieve the development of the Greek tourism product 365 days a year.
At the same time, he points out the request of the entrepreneurs to modify the existing NSRF for the establishment and operation of new tourism enterprises, considering it necessary to adapt the investment plans to the new conditions created by the pandemic with the risk of losing resources from non-implementation of integrated plans.
Among other things, the chamber proposals include actions to specialize in thematic tourism products and services, as well as to establish upgrades and modernization of tourism businesses with an emphasis on alternative tourism, which, as stated, “will be one of the most important support measures for companies in the tourism sector and the budget available for it will serve the development of the Greek economy and the competitiveness of Greek companies, but also the absorption and utilization of European funds “.
