The Technical Chamber of Greece is undertaking an initiative to strengthen the Greek system of research, technological development and innovation, supporting the organization of the Inventors Awards of the Hellenic Industrial Property Academy, according to a relevant announcement.
At the same time, it is deepening the cooperation with the Hellenic Industrial Property Academy for the creation of tools that will contribute to increase in the country both the patenting (patents and other industrial property rights) and in general the outlays for research and technological development of products and services. especially in the private sector, leading to innovation and growth with high domestic added value.
Apprenticeship institution
For this reason, the TCG, in collaboration with HIPA and Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation (OBI), but mainly with Greek companies that research and innovate, is proceeding to the creation of an apprenticeship for patent counselors, with an emphasis on the creation of a scheme of gaining work experience and skills development for professional career of the patent consultant, through the institution of apprenticeship, but mainly in supporting them through the introduction of new roles, certified, for experienced executives of industry and research, such as:
· The “apprentice” (traineeship supervisor), ie the executive who supervises the correct execution of all the steps of a complete unit of work experience, and
· The trainee’s personal tutor.
The joint TCG-HIPA actions for these new directions will be presented at a separate event planned in the coming weeks but the TCG is now announcing this collaboration on the one hand to emphasize the importance of the Greek Inventors award by OBI and on the other to motivate Greek companies, especially those that employ engineers and are already investing in research and technological development, to be informed and to contribute to the development of the institution of the patent consultant.
G. Stasinos: It is time for the “patents” to become real competitive advantages
According to the President of TCG George Stasinos, “Greek engineers know in practice the ingenuity that characterizes Greek society, with its pros and cons. The “patents of the Greek craftsman” and the Greek engineer are very well known to all of us and in many cases have provided solutions to unique technical problems. It’s time for patents to become truly competitive, patents with industrial properties, patents that created wealth through their diffusion and industrial application.”
He added: “Now is the time to work together to bring about a real productive change in the country, with a framework that not only places resources on research but also emphasizes the right tools and institutions to support innovation.” He added that “we have before us investments in sectors such as energy, the circular economy, new materials, industrial processes, telecommunications and the internet, new networks, which through digitization and resource savings create a unique field of innovation and wealth creation and that is why it is already called the 4th industrial revolution. So let us, now, here, in our country, in the 200 years since the Greek Revolution, again, be a force of revolution in the development and economic sector, through innovation. “
