The University of Crete is in 79th place internationally for the tenth consecutive year. The Young University Rankings, known as “The University – Young University Rankings” published the results of the ranking of the best new Universities internationally. The 2021 ranking includes 475 Universities up from 414 that participated in 2020. The University of Crete maintains its position at number 79 despite the number of newly admitted institutions and also precedes the 4 Greek universities included in the ranking.
The ranking is based on the same performance indicators examined in THE World University Rankings and cover the entire scope of a University’s mission (teaching, research, reporting, transfer of know-how, and extroversion), but gives less weight to a University’s reputation as it relates to the years of operation, the tradition, and the property it has acquired in its course.
It is worth noting that, in terms of the index “response to research” based on the number of reports, the University of Crete occupies for 2021 the 27th place among the Universities participating in the ranking.
As the Foundation announced, “the fact that the University of Crete is still among the 80 best New Universities in the world is an important and impressive achievement, taking into account the difficult conditions affecting education and research in Greece, and demonstrates the commitment of the University Community.” in the preservation of quality and excellence, goals that were the foundations of the founding of this University “.
