These actions are taken in order to return the power plant of PPC in Chania, which was damaged yesterday, to full operation.
Although the electricity supply on the island from last night is continuing normally and the damage was restored, according to sources, for security reasons it is required to carry out scheduled power outages so that all the equipment of the PPC unit returns to normal.
does not The damage was caused at a time when IPTO (Independent Power Transmission Operator) has completed the electrical connection of the island with a submarine cable from the Peloponnese. However, the cable has not yet been electrified, for reasons unknown. It simply carry power.

The announcement of the company
HEDNO informs consumers that, due to a temporary reduction in the available power capacity of the PPC generating station in Chania, Crete due to a fault in a part of 150 KV of the plant, it was deemed necessary to schedule the units power outages of limited extent and of to an hour’s duration, today Friday 02 July 2021 , between 12:00 to 16:00, in order to ensure the smooth operation of the island system. Depending on the course of reintegration of the units, if required, a new outage program will be announced.
HEDNO expresses its regret for the plight of consumers and thanks them in advance for their active participation in efforts to reduce electricity consumption.
