Executives of Greece-based data center provider Lamda Hellix, one of the biggest such entities in southeast Europe, referred to investments in the country over the coming decade totaling 1.1 billion euros, in a briefing given to Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The meeting, held at the Maximos Mansion government seat last week, is more-or-less a continuation of the pro-reform and center-right government’s high-profile emphasis on “green”, “smart” and “digital” investments in the country – by both the private sector as well as others involving the transformation of the Greek state from layers of creaky bureaucracy into a centralized and advanced digital online environment.
Lamda Hellix is a subsidiary of Digital Realty.
Mitsotakis received, among others, David Ruberg, Digital Reality’s executive vice president of strategy & emerging markets and Apostolos Kakkos, the president and CEO of Lamda Hellix.
According to Digital Realty’s planning, Greece is eyed as its data centers hub for SE Europe, with the use of neutral data centers allowing organizations and major corporations the ability to maintain their independence and autonomy by implementing hybrid-multi cloud solutions.
