Three cruise ships carrying a total of 2200 passengers arrived in the port of Souda this morning.
More than two thousand passengers disembarked from the ships, making visits to the city of Chania, as well as to places of archaeological interest, while at the same time they had time to go shopping. As the president of the Port Fund of Chania, Dimitris Virirakis, explained to APE – MPE, the system of the “bubble” that imposed restrictions is no longer valid and the passengers can move freely. As he said, “this development was launched after a series of contacts and consultations with the representatives of the companies that make cruises and with the basic criterion of public health and safety”.
According to Mr. Virirakis, the arrivals program will include other simultaneous approaches of three cruise ships in the port of Souda, while 75 more cruise ship arrivals are expected by December.
