The first 14 kilometres of the south section of the E65 national highway are to be officially delivered for use on Friday. The event will be attended by Infrastructure and Transport Minister Kostas Karamanlis, General Secretary for Infrastructure Giorgos Karagiannis and representatives of the consortiums that built and are to exploit the project.

The road will link the Patras-Athens-Thessaloniki (PATHE) national highway with Trikala and, once the north section is completed, with the Egnatia Highway. The part of the road to be delivered on Friday starts at the PATHE junction reaches the Karpenisi junction, bypassing the city of Lamia.

“If it were not for the NSRF and the Community money, we would not be able to do such projects and we must always remember that. This money exists because we are members of the European Union “, underlined Development Minister Adonis Georgiadis, noting the need for the projects in the railway network to be the immediate big goal of the Ministry of Infrastructure.
