The General Index of Turnover in Industry for the month of May 2021, compared to the corresponding index of April 2021, showed a decrease of 1.9%.
The average General Index of the twelve months June 2020 – May 2021, compared to the corresponding index of the twelve months June 2019 – May 2020, showed an increase of 0.1%, compared to a decrease of 8.0% compared to the corresponding previous twelve months.

The increase of the General Turnover Index in Industry by 37.0% in May 2021, compared to the corresponding index of May 2020, came from:
1. From the changes of the indices of the sub-sectors of the industry:
– Increase by 37.4% of the Manufacturing Turnover Index. The changes in the indicators of the double-digit sectors mainly contributed to this increase: production of coke and oil refining products, manufacture of electrical equipment, production of basic metals, manufacture of metal products.
– Increase by 10.3% of the Turnover Index of Mines – Quarries. This increase was due to changes in the indicators of the double-digit sectors: coal and lignite mining – crude oil and gas extraction – supportive mining activities, other mines and quarries.
2. From the changes in the indices of the individual markets:
– Increase by 61.5% of the External Market Turnover Index.
– Increase by 23.8% of the Domestic Market Turnover Index.
