Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Wednesday hailed the first delivery of 18 French-made Rafale warplanes, with the fourth-generation fighter plane presented during a ceremony at Dassault’s headquarters in southern France.
The Hellenic Air Force will receive 18 Rafale planes, 12 used and six new, in a deal between Athens and Paris.
In a Tweet, Mitsotakis pointed to the “…first of a total of 18 Greek Rafales, an air supremacy aircraft, of the new generation, one that multiplies the Hellenic Air Force’s deterrent force and increases the country’s defense capabilities. Greece’s wings are strengthened.”
