
The possibility of replacing a driving license without the payment of the prescribed fee and the final deletion of a damaged vehicle with a responsible statement without the need to submit another supporting document, requests the Attica Regional Governor, G. Patoulis.
In an urgent letter to the Minister of Finance Chr. Staikouras, the Minister of Interior Makis Voridis, the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Konstantinos Achilles Karamanlis, the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport I. Kefalogiannis and the Secretary General of Economic Policy Chr. Triantopoulos, Mr Patoulis proposes that there be relevant legislative provision in the context of the nationwide effort for the immediate recovery and practical support of those affected by the devastating fires.
In this direction, notes G. Patoulis, the proposed regulations free from financial obligations and bureaucratic formalities are considered not only necessary, but also extremely urgent either due to the destruction of their homes, or due to the inability to identify their vehicles that were destroyed or unused the fiery nightmare.
In particular, the letter proposes:
1. To provide for the final deletion of vehicles a procedure similar to the one that had been followed with the A58984 / 2775 / 31-07-18 document of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport for the victims of the fires of 2018.
2. For the issuance of a copy of the damaged or lost driving licenses due to the fires, to submit the supporting documents mentioned in par. 2 of article 9 “Issuance of a copy of driving license of a Greek or EU member state” of 50984/7947/2013 (ΒΔ 3056) “Driving license, training and examination of prospective drivers of mopeds, motorcycles and cars”, excluding the receipts for the payment of the amount provided for the printing of the driving license form, of the amount provided for or theft of the driving license form and only with a declaration of loss or destruction of the driving license form, as well as any other prescribed fees (as regulated by document No. Δ30 / Α3 / 96821 / 12-11-20 of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport),
3. Extension of the Technical Inspection Certificates that have or are about to expire in the coming days of vehicle owners who have been affected by the fires
4. Extension of the validity of the driving licenses, Certificates of Professional Competence (P.E.I.), licenses to practice the profession of trainer of candidate drivers and Training Certificates of Examination of the victims
5. Medical certificates, which may have been issued by the victims, to be accepted by the competent service and within four (4) months after the end of the defined in Presidential Decree 51/2012 (A ‘101) “Adaptation of Greek legislation to the Directive 2006/126 / EC… “, deadline for submission (6 months from the date of issue).
The letter points out the need for the relevant decisions and arrangements to be made to be valid for a sufficient period of time, which should not be less than six months or until 01-03-2022.
Extension for Candidate Drivers
At the same time, by order of the Regional Governor, the possibility is extended to those prospective drivers and drivers who can not be tested, due to fires and high temperatures, for a practical examination to reschedule it to a new date, without imposing the statutory administrative sanctions. In particular, with a new decision of the Deputy Regional Minister of Transport and Communications, V. Giannakopoulos, August 12, 2021 is set as the deadline on which the non-attendance of candidates for practical examination will be considered justified.
