
Horizontal checks on the staff of private, public and municipal care units for the elderly and people with disabilities begin on Monday 16 August in the morning as announced by the National Transparency Authority, in the context of the implementation of the mandatory vaccination against Covid-19.
It should be noted that according to the legislation (no. 206 of Law 4820/2021) all the staff (medical, paramedical, nursing, administrative and support staff) of the private, public and municipal care units for the elderly and people with disabilities should have received the first dose or the only dose of vaccine until 16.08.2021.
Please note that the relevant provisions provide for the following penalties in case of non-compliance with the above obligation:
Public sector:
For civil servants: special administrative measure of suspension of duties (non-payment of remuneration) by decision of the head of the Agency. Lifting of suspension after 14 days from the completion of the vaccination.
Private sector:
For employees: The employer is obliged not to accept the provision of the employee’s work and is released from the obligation to pay wages for the period of non-provision of work.
For employers: The employer who employs staff in violation of the relevant provisions is subject to an administrative fine a) € 10,000 for each violation to a maximum of € 50,000 and b) in case of recurrence found in a re-audit € 20,000 for each violation and up to € 200,000.
