Piraeus rising in container handling

It should be noted that in the immediate future, the transfer of 16% of the Piraeus Port Authority shares is expected from the HRADF to Cosco, after the relevant agreement is signed and then passed by Parliament.
Meanwhile, with a small drop (-0.5%) closed the eight months for the two piers of Piraeus Containers Terminal (Cosco Shipping Ports) according to data published by the Chinese parent company.

3,241.1 thousand TeuIn particular, Piraeus Container Terminal S.A. handled 425.5 thousand Teu in August 2021 compared to 419.6 thousand Teu in the corresponding month last year (+ 1.4%) while 3,241.1 thousand Teu were  handled in the eight months of January-August compared to 3,258.3 thousand Teu in the eight months of 2020.

The two PCT piers are the only ones on European soil that record losses, even if minimal, in the eight months.

However, in total (three piers) the ports of Piraeus are moving in positive territory in the eight months in the handling of containers.
