Practical collaborations between the Ministry of Development and Investment, through the Athens Observatory and the newly established Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection were discussed today by the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Mr. Christos Stylianidis, the Deputy Minister of Development and theMinister of Development and Investment. Mr. Manolis Pleionis.
In the discussion, technical details were analyzed, in order to yield the practical collaborations between the 2 bodies, which will combine the scientific data with the operational possibilities.
Among other things, the possibilities of timely prediction of dangerous natural phenomena such as floods and fires were discussed, as well as the greater utilization of the sciences and infrastructure of both the Observatory and the Scientific Network for Climate Crisis, Climpact.
The Deputy Minister of Development and Investment, Mr. Christos Dimas, stated the following:
“The climate crisis is a reality that not only can we not ignore but requires the close cooperation of all of us to prevent, address and even repair its effects.”
