A fire is ongoing in a plot of land outside the military airport of Araxos, in Achaia, near the ammunition depot.
According to the Fire Service, the front of the fire is located between the community of Araxos and the military airport, while seven vehicles with 14 firefighters are operating at the scene.
According to information, the firefighting operation also involves two helicopters, two PZL aircraft, Fire Brigade units as well as firefighters and personnel of the air base.
For the time being, there is no threat to the settlement of Araxos, however strong winds are blowing in the area.
