The Agricultural Poultry Cooperative of Ioannina “PINDOS” proceeded to the creation of a new chicken processing unit.
This is an investment of 9.5 million euros which enables the development of new production lines and consequently new jobs that are expected to be staffed by 100 additional people. It is noted that it is part of a wider investment program, with a budget of 27 million euros, implemented by PINDOS in the period 2020 – 2024.
The investment was financed with own funds, a state subsidy under the “General Entrepreneurship” regime of the development law 4399/2016 and a loan from the Cooperative Bank of Epirus and Eurobank. In the new industrial chicken processing unit of “PINDOS”, new production lines have been developed with ready-cooked, fresh and frozen products as well as chicken deboning line, frozen round production line and production line of marinated chicken products, while in the future another new production line of ready-made chicken meals is planned.

The Agricultural Poultry Cooperative of Ioannina “PINDOS”, is the largest primary agricultural cooperative in the country with 62 years of continuous presence in the Greek market. The driving force of PINDOS is the more than 500 poultry farmers of the cooperative. Based in Rodotopi, Ioannina, PINDOS has state-of-the-art infrastructure and fully verticalized production, while following the highest international standards of quality and safety at every stage of the production process.
PINDOS holds a leading position in the poultry industry, with a market share of over 30% while maintaining more than 1,200 jobs and indirectly supporting thousands more positions in the supply chain.
