Problems in the supply chain, the cost of raw materials, energy and transportation costs instead of improving, persist, the Jumbo group said in a statement, with the management pointing out that under these circumstances the initial estimate that 2021 will be another lost year seems to be confirmed “compared to Jumbo’s standards for balanced growth in both sales and group profitability”.
2022 also a lost year
According to the company, the slowing down factors are not expected to improve during the first months of 2022, “on the contrary, they are further likely to worsen, making 2022 a year which can be characterized as another lost year”, it is stressed.
Rewarding shareholders – partners
According to the announcement, the goal of the Jumbo management at this time is through profitability and its strong financial position:
1. to safeguard the Jumbo model towards the consumer in relation to the price of the offered product, even choosing to refuse repurchases in many product categories when it deems that this relation is to the detriment of the consumer and in favor of a guild or a supplier.
2. to reward its shareholders – partners for the support and trust in the company and its management by advancing, in the form of extraordinary financial distribution, the total dividend corresponding to the year 2021 and even increased compared to 2020, staying faithful to its commitment to distribute money even in lost years.
At 0.77 euros the gross amount to shareholders this year
It is recalled that for 2021, the Group proceeded in July to an extraordinary cash distribution of gross amount of 0.47 euros per share as an advance payment of the dividend for the year 2021. As we go through the last quarter of the year, the management will proceed to additional gross cash distribution amounting to 0.30 euros per share in two equal installments of 0.15 euros per share on 26 November and 17 December respectively.
Consequently, the total gross amount that will have been paid to the shareholders against the profits of the year 2021, amounts to a gross amount of 0.77 euros per share, increased by 25% compared to 2020, which amounted to 0.615 euros per share.
