Andreas Loverdos, candidate for the presidency of KINAL, spoke this morning to MEGA TV where he reiterated that in case of victory he will make statements as “president of PASOK” and not of KINAL, restoring the party to its original form.
Citing that Potami no longer exists, which existed when the Movement for Change was formed, Mr. Loverdos claimed that he is not nostalgic for PASOK but wants “to return to the forefront with PASOK, not to return to PASOK.”
On the issue of cooperation with other parties, Mr. Loverdos said that there is no case of conservative alliance with ND by any candidate, while adding that only some from SYRIZA and some from KINAL speak of a leftist and progressive alliance government. “I am negative in this possibility”, he stressed and added: “A progressive government with SYRIZA is not possible”.
He also suggested holding a debate with all the candidates for the leadership.
From Kilkis, Mr. Loverdos referred to foreign policy issues and in particular to the Prespa Agreement, leaving tips for those who supported it. He specifically said: “I have been a minister with four prime ministers. I have seen, I am experienced, I measure my words and I am telling you: I was against the Prespa Agreement. I articulated the speech of the party in Parliament against the Prespa Agreement. Were we all against? We were not. If this is not the option I propose to be on December 5th, are we sure that the Prespa Agreement will not be a model solution for a trio of parties named after Tsipras, Varoufakis and some of us? I submit it as a political criterion and a dilemma of choice for you and all of us to decide on December 5th “.
