
Greece was announced as the top destination for Europe in 2021 (Europe’s Leading Destination 2021) at the international travel institution World Travel Awards.
On the occasion of the emergence of Greece as a top European destination for 2021, the Minister of Tourism Vassilis Kikilias made the following statement:
“Greece made the best use of pandemic management, medical and travel protocols. Proving to the planet that it is the most beautiful but also the safest destination. This international award for 2021, comes to confirm that now in Tourism we are undertaking a championship of quality and travel experience. Greece will have tourism this year and in November, the professionals in the field must prepare for a strong 2022 “.
The World Travel Awards were established in 1993 to recognize and reward excellence in key areas of the tourism industry. Today it is a well-known institution that is recognized worldwide as the ultimate trademark of the travel industry.
