Kyriakos Mitsotakis will have meetings with businessmen from Saudi Arabia who are active or have expressed interest in investing in Greece on the second day of his presence in Riyadh, while he will participate in the Future Investment Initiative Forum, which brings together its most important investors.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis will meet with the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, while yesterday he presented the ambitious goals of the government for the transition to a green economy.
The Prime Minister presented to the Saudi leaders the goal of making Greece the entry point into the European clean energy market that will be produced in Africa and Asia. In this direction, Mr. Mitsotakis underlined that the goal of the government is to mobilize resources for investments that will exceed 25 billion euros.
In fact, Mr. Mitsotakis announced in advance that a bill for the production of electricity through offshore wind farms will be put to public consultation in the coming weeks, speaking in the context of the Summit of the Middle East Green Initiative.
Recently, the government spokesman, referring to Mitsotakis’ visit to Riyadh, spoke of a “visit that confirms and consolidates the strategic character of Greece’s relationship with Saudi Arabia.”
Details of what Giannis Economou said about the Prime Minister’s visit to Saudi Arabia:

“Yesterday he spoke at the Summit of the Middle East Green Initiative, where he stressed the possibility of Greece becoming an energy hub for the transfer of clean energy to the European market. He referred to the agreement with Egypt regarding the electrical interconnection with Greece, while at the same time he stressed that our country can be the natural entry point for liquefied natural gas and hydrogen.
The Prime Minister underlined that Greece as a member of the European Union is committed to the goal of making Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050, while the aim is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030. He referred to the effort to increase the share of Renewable Energy Sources and the plan to mobilize more than 25 billion euros in investments aimed at the green transition.
On the sidelines of the Summit, the Prime Minister had a meeting with the US Special Envoy on climate John Kerry, while today, Tuesday, the Prime Minister will have a meeting with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia.
