A cyclist, who was run over by a truck in Thessaloniki, breathed her last.
The unfortunate cyclist was intubated in the ambulance, however she had suffered serious head injuries as a result of which she succumbed.
The first information states that the deceased is a minor girl, who was transported in serious condition to the hospital.
The accident happened at the moment when the truck was turning at the junction of Lambraki and Katsimidi streets.
The images recorded by the cameras from the spot are also shocking as it seems that the bicycle has been crushed under the wheels of the truck.
How the accident happened
It all started when the truck tried to turn on Agiou Dimitriou Street.
The driver did not see the girl who was also turning with her bicycle at that moment, as a result of which she was dragged along and her bicycle got stuck under the wheels.
“When I got here the woman was unconscious under the truck, covered in blood, she was completely under the truck,” an eyewitness told OPEN TV.
The cyclist was wearing a helmet, which, however, left her head when she was hit by the truck.
