
The provision of a new technology, Tap to Phone, through which every business is given the opportunity, using the Eurobank Smart POS application to turn its android mobile phone into a POS and to complete every transaction safely and securely, Eurobank announced.
For the launch of this new service, Eurobank partnered with Visa, the provider of Tap to Phone technology.
According to the bank, the Eurobank Smart POS application accepts all Visa and Mastercard cards with contactless technology as well as all digital wallets, such as Apple Pay, Google Pay and Garmin Pay, which are already available from Eurobank.
The application
In particular, the Eurobank Smart POS application has significant advantages for businesses and consumers:
– No investment in POS equipment is required on the part of the company or the freelancer.
– Activated immediately with the approval of a simple application in any Eurobank branch and is available free of charge for the first six (6) months with the possibility of extension.
– Ability to use it by any professional or business, of any size and in any industry for transactions regardless of amount, both for payments outside the physical space of business (courier, delivery, transportation services, food service, fuel trading, freelancers, etc.) as well as for those within physical stores.
– Accelerates and facilitates the completion of the transaction, without even the briefest waiting period for the consumer, through the full portability that ensures the conversion of the android mobile into POS without the need for a cable or any additional device. Among other things, the possibilities for issuing a receipt and sending it to the customer (QR, e-mail, sms) at the point where the payment is completed are provided, as well as cancellation of the transaction, refund or partial refund.
– Through the management application tool Merchant Portal the company has full autonomy and absolute control of activating and deactivating staff accounts. It supports automatic or manual closing of the shift, depending on the foreseen working time and has the possibility of interconnection with the cash system of the company.
– It is safe and reliable according to the Second Payment Services Directive (PSD2) and the international organizations Visa & Mastercard and does not store cardholder data on the smartphone.
