
Fines of € 87,500 were imposed and over eleven thousand counterfeit products were confiscated during the period from 9/11/2021 to 11/11/2021, in audits carried out by government market watchdog DI.M.E.A. in companies for dealing with illegal e-commerce, in the physical headquarters of e-shops and in e-shop suppliers in Patras.
In particular, 11,618 pieces of imitation clothing, footwear, bags, mobile phone accessories, etc. were located, confiscated and destroyed.
In addition, fines totaling € 87,500 were imposed on the companies, for trade and distribution of counterfeit goods, as defined in article 18, of law 4712/2020 (A’146), as well as for non-compliance with the rules of Distribution and Trade of Products and Services ( law 4177/2013) while the process of deleting the websites of online stores by the National Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT) begins, by order of DIMEA, pursuant to par. 1g of article 10 of law 4712/2012 (A ‘146).
DIMEA notes that the controls continue at an intensive pace throughout the territory.
