Twenty-one days before the polls open for the Movement for Change (KINAL) elections, the Metron Analysis poll for the Sunday edition of the newspaper “To Vima”, shows that the elections for the presidency of the party have strengthened its influence.
Much will be judged by whether the Movement for Change party will be able to take advantage of the increased influence it seems to be gaining in the central political ideology. Characteristically, 6 out of 10 respondents state that they may vote for it. In total, 45% of the participants and of those who have voted for SYRIZA state that they may vote the Movement for Change party.
The two finalists of the first round
According to the poll, the ones who are more likely to be voted for the leadership of the party, during the second round, are George Papandreou, Andreas Loverdos and Nikos Androulakis. Τhe people who are going to vote for the leadership, on December 5, are the ones to determine the final result.
According to the poll, Andreas Loverdos seems to lead in the fight for the leadership of the party, as the citizens, who declare that will vote on December 5, increase in number. The opinion poll also records the inability of George Papandreou to win in the second round.
In addition, Mr. Androulakis, in fact, is said to be a very strong contender for the leadership of the party, but, everything will depend on the electorate that will appear at the polls in December, according to the poll.
There are also other factors that will determine the final result of the elections. In all types of the respondents, G. Papandreou is said to be the one who will be voted as the leader of the party, with Mr. Androulakis being the most popular one.
The percentage that the other three candidates, Pavlos Geroulanos, Pavlos Christidis and Charis Kastanidis will receive, and whether they decide to openly support one of the candidates in the second round, will also play a significant role in determing the final result.
In any case, the findings of the opinion poll confirm the assessment that the political system is in motion and the reshuffles in the central political ideology, which acquire other characteristics due to the increased interest in the battle for succession in the Movement for Change party, will be the ones that will determine the correlations with which the parties will enter the home stretch towards the next national elections.
