With exports and development of new concepts, the Venetis company, which completes 73 years of operation this year in the field of bakery, food service and confections, hopes to “soften” the wounds of the pandemic.
This year Venetis will manage to cover 1/3 of the losses of 2020 in the turnover and it is estimated that it will close at + 11%, to 40 million euros compared to last year, while the profits are projected to increase by 25%, to 2 million. However, the head of the group, Panagiotis Monemvasiotis, stressed that the turnover remains 16% lower than it had before the pandemic.
Concept for export
Veneti Great is the new venture of the Venetis company with the aim of growth in the foreign market. As Mr. Monemvasiotis noted, there are already pre-agreements for markets such as Great Britain, USA and Saudi Arabia which have gone on the backburner due to the pandemic.
Veneti Great on the ground floor of the former Bagion Hotel in Omonia operates as a multipurpose Shop in Shop that houses ten different dining concepts from the traditional souvlaki and gyros, cooked food, pasta and pizza, pastries, sweets, coffees and juices.
“Dark” kitchens
However, the project of dark kitchens will be implemented faster, ie there is no public dining area. It is available for ready meals (pizza and burgers) only through delivery and online orders. “Pizza Mia” and “Jackson’s Burger” are expected to launch in the next 2-3 months.
Jackson’s in Kolonaki to open at Easter
The company is promoting the opening of three new privately owned stores in Volos, Peristeri and Kifissia, while the new store at the former Jackson’s Hall in Milioni, Kolonaki, is expected to open by Easter.
In the building of Kolonaki, which is being completely renovated, there will be two spaces: a modern bakery on the ground floor and a bar on the first floor.
The famous Jackson Hall bar has been closed since 2013 and the property has been rented by Venetis since 2016.
