Today’s signing of the MoU between Greece and Egypt on the sidelines of the 6th Ministerial Meeting of the East Mediterranean Gas Forum, lays the foundations for the conclusion of DEPA International Works agreements with the Egyptian state gas company EGas, as had previously been announced in a relevant OT.gr article.
DEPA International Works participated in the working groups that met in Cairo and following the memorandum of understanding, will specify the cooperation with the Egyptian side for the interconnection of the natural gas systems of the two countries, with the construction of an underwater powerline.
These discussions are part of the company’s strategy for collaborations in international projects of major importance in the region of the Southeastern Mediterranean, with the aim of adequate and competitive supply of both the Greek and the regional market.
The expansion of cooperation between the two sides, creates significant prospects for the development of new infrastructure projects that will complement planned or existing projects, aimed at diversifying supply routes and energy security of the wider region.
