The opinion that no new measures are needed to stop the pandemic but the implementation of what is already in force and attention during the holidays, was expressed by the president of EINAP, Matina Pagoni.
Ms Pagoni said a general lockdown “would be the biggest mistake of the government” especially with the number of citizens who have been vaccinated and given the third boost.
With tests and up to 10 people at the New Year’s Eve
She recommended that there be 8 to 10 people at the festive tables who will have undergone a coronavirus test first, whether they have been vaccinated or not.
“If we really all want to be safe and at the same time have fun, I think a test is not that difficult,” he said.
When is the outbreak of Omicron expected in Greece – 70 times more contagious
Regarding the Omicron variant of the coronavirus, Ms. Pagoni said that the first data show that it is 70 times more contagious than the Delta mutation but with much simpler symptoms.
As he said, a gradual decrease of cases and indicators is expected after December 25, however, by the end of February, an outbreak of the pandemic is expected.
Booster shot saves lives
She stressed the importance of the third boost of the coronavirus vaccine, saying that it saves lives and called on all citizens to rush to get it.
“Everyone must understand that the third dose saves lives. This is shown by the studies so far “,” those who should do it should not neglect it, “it is very important for us to have good days”, noted the president of EINAP.
I received a threatening letter in my house from deniers
On the occasion of the attack received by the President of the Medical Association of Patras Anna Mastorakou, Ms. Pagoni revealed that she has received a threatening letter in her home from deniers without revealing more about its content.
“One does not fret. The more you worry, the more fear is created “, said the president of EINAP, speaking to SKAI channel, adding that she continues to do what she has to do.
Deniers, she added, are of two kinds, those who discuss it and those who threaten. According to Ms. Pagoni, a discussion can take place with the former, as opposed to the latter.
