A moderate earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale shook the large island of Crete at 07.08 (05.08 GMT), according to the Athens Observatory’s geodynamic institute.
The quake’s epicenter was pinpointed at 48 kilometers southwest of the town of Arbis, and at a depth of roughly 47 kilometers.
The tremor was felt throughout the entire large island.
