
The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has completed the process of procuring medical equipment for the protection of the employees of the care units for the elderly and the chronically ill in the Social Welfare Centers and Elderly Care Units of the country.
In particular, the project concerns the purchase of surgical masks and gloves, worth 2 million euros.
According to an announcement by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the distribution of the supplies, which has already started in more than 300 care structures, will meet the needs of 6,600 employees and 18,000 beneficiaries.
The Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Domna Michailidou, stated: “With this project, in combination with the priority vaccination within employee and beneficiary structures and the special operating protocols, we continue to ensure the uninterrupted and safe operation of the structures. Our main concern is to protect the health of all those who work and live in these structures. “We are constantly protecting our elderly fellow citizens, who, especially during the pandemic, need us the most.”
This initiative was carried out with the co-financing of the European Social Fund, Operational Program Public Sector Reform, NSRF 2014-2020.
