The producer’s price index in the industrial sector for Greece – a composite index measuring both the domestic and external market – jumped by a spectacular 29.4 percent in December 2021, compared to the corresponding month of 2020, Hellenic Statistical Authority announced on Friday.

Specifically, the domestic producer’s price index jumped 30.4 percent and the external market index rose by 26 percent in December 2021. The producer’s price index rose 5.7 percent during the month, compared to November 2021, and after a 1.8-percent hike recorded during the corresponding period in 2020. The index grew by 13.8 percent on average, in 2021, compared to 2020.
