The ANEDIK Kritikos supermarket chain is evolving to dominate the islands of the Saronic Gulf, continuing to strengthen its presence with new stores.
With 7 stores on Aegina, from where the history of the chain began in 1948 by Andreas Kritikos, father of the current owners Angelos, Nektarios, and Dimitris, 3 stores on Poros, and another 2 opposite -on the coast of Argolida- and specifically in Galatas and Methana, 2 on Spetses and 1 on Salamina, ANEDIK Kritikos is preparing to open a new large store in the port of Hydra.
The investment plan
A smaller Kritikos supermarket already exists on Hydra and the impending arrival of the second, in the “heart” of the traditional port, has sparked protests from local professionals, who claim that the financial footprint of the island’s small food shops will be dangerously reduced.
However, Kritikos has posted dozens of ads on specialized job search pages looking for employees of various specialties not only for the island of Hydra, but also for many other areas, mainly Attica.
It should be noted that new stores are also planned for the area of Megara, as well as for Tzia in the Cyclades.
The chain’s investment plan for the next 3 years includes the creation of 30-35 stores each year, of which 10 corporate and 20-25 franchises.
390 outlets
It is reminded that from the beginning of 2021, after a ten-year alliance with ELOMAS, Kritikos continues autonomously in order to expand.
At the same time, implementing its investment and development plan, it acquired a 49% stake in the CRM subsidiary Ariadne, which is based in Malades, Heraklion, Crete, serving more than 140 stores and now owning 100% of its shares.
After the absorption of CRM, Kritikos now controls a network of 390 stores, operating in 27 prefectures of the country, with the support of 6 distribution centers and more than 2,500 employees.
In 2020, ANEDIK Kritikos recorded double-digit growth rates, both at group level (including CRM A.E.) and company. More specifically, the group’s turnover amounted to 390.1 million euros, increased by 11.43% compared to 350 million euros in 2019. Also, the results after taxes remained profitable and amounted to 1.89 million euros , showing an increase of 4.71% compared to the year 2019, when they ranged around 1.8 million euros.
