Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias on Thursday reiterated that his ministry and all of Athens’ relevant services are continuing to take steps aimed at the protection of Greek citizens in Ukraine.

In response to a press question, he also said Athens is obliged to adapt its plan “based on conditions on the ground” when queried over the possible evacuation of Greek citizens and recognized ethnic Greeks.

During a meeting chaired by PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis, participants spoke with the Greek ambassador in Kiev, as well as the country’s consul generals in Mariupol and Odessa.

Even in the face of outright warfare, Greece is one of the few countries that still retains all of its diplomatic missions in Ukraine open.
