
The Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) records a large increase in construction activity.
The Authority announced final data for the month of November 2021, of the Building Activity Survey.
Particularly:
- The Total Building Activity (private-public) in Greece, in November 2021 which is calculated on the basis of the number of issued building permits, amounted to 2,310. This figure corresponds to 572.2 thousand m2 of surface and 2,543.6 thousand m3 of volume, reflecting, respectively, a 42.9% increase in the number of building permits, a 58.1% increase in surface and a 71.3% increase in volume, compared with the corresponding month of 2020.
- The building permits for the Private Building Activity issued in Greece in November 2021 amounted to 2,303. This figure corresponds to 570.1 thousand m2
of surface and 2,531.1 thousand m3 of volume. In comparison with the same month of 2020 there is a 43.5% increase in the number of building permits, a 62.3% increase in surface and a 75.6% increase in volume. - The building permits for the Public Building Activity issued in Greece in November 2021 amounted to 7. This figure corresponds to 2.1 thousand m2
of surface and 12.5 thousand m3 of volume. Public Building Activity accounted for 0.5% of the total building volume. - In the last twelve months, from December 2020 to November 2021, Total Building Activity (private-public) in Greece, calculated on the basis of the number of issued building permits, amounted to 23,634. This figure corresponds to 6,040.1 thousand m2 of surface and 25,364.7 thousand m3 of volume. In comparison with the corresponding period from December 2019 until November 2020, there is a 24.9% increase in the number of building permits, a 49.0% increase in surface and a 46.5% increase in volume.
- In the same period, from December 2020 until November 2021, Private Building Activity in Greece recorded a 25.1% increase in the number of issued building permits, a 49.0% increase in surface and a 46.3% increase in volume, compared with the corresponding period from December 2019 to November 2020 (Table 4). During the same period, Public Building Activity accounted for 2.2% of the total building volume.
- During the period January – November 2021, Total Building Activity (private-public) in Greece recorded a 27.5% increase in the number of issued building permits, a 52.6% increase in surface and a 49.9% increase in volume, compared with the corresponding period of 2020.
- During the same period, January – November 2021, Private Building Activity in Greece recorded a 27.8% increase in the number of issued building permits, a 53.0% increase in surface and a 50.0% increase in volume, in comparison with the period of January – November 2020.
