Regarding the phenomena in our country, from today at noon on Wednesday there will be a gradual weakening of the rainfall and snowfall in the mainland, while in the southern parts of the island the local storms will continue and will hit the Southern Cyclades, the Dodecanese and Crete.
We expect worsening weather conditions tomorrow, Thursday.
Truck traffic ban on Athens – Lamia highway
Specifically, by decision of the Attica Traffic Directorate, the circulation of all types of heavy vehicles with a maximum permissible weight over 3.5 tons, as well as all vehicles that do not have snow chains, is prohibited, for special safety reasons in order to avoid traffic problems. due to the occurrence of adverse weather phenomena, from 11.00 am today 9/3/2022 until the effects of the phenomena in the traffic flow to Lamia of N.E.O. Athens-Lamia, in its section from the height of the Kalyftakis junction (c / o 20,060) to the borders of Attica (c / o 58,520).
The following vehicles are excluded from the above prohibition:
Roadside assistance vehicles
Salt trucks
Emergency vehicles
The above traffic regulation may be extended or reduced beyond the specified hours, if the traffic conditions so require.
It should be noted that the crews of Nea Odos in collaboration with the Traffic Police are on foot, so that the National Road remains open along its entire length.

Nea Odos, informs the drivers that due to the occurrence of Emergency Weather Phenomena, a decision of the Traffic Police for the cessation of the traffic of heavy vehicles over 3.5 tons, in the section of the highway and especially from the Kalyftakis junction, in the flow of traffic in the direction of Lamia.
At the same time, according to an Announcement of the General Regional Police Directorate of Central Greece, the traffic of heavy vehicles over 3.5 tons is stopped in the section of the Athens-Thessaloniki highway, and in particular from the Thebes Toll Station (93rd km) to and the area of Martinos-borders with N. Fthiotida (121st km) in both traffic streams while the use of snow chains is mandatory for all vehicles.
We ask all drivers to comply with the orders of the Traffic Police.
Finally, we note that Nea Odos has taken all the necessary measures to manage the phenomena and we remind that during the occurrence of severe weather phenomena all unnecessary movements must be avoided.
