
At the end of 2022, at the beginning of 2023 at the latest, the Presidential Decree for the implementation of the project of unification, regeneration and upgrading of the 40 km long Coastal Front of Thessaloniki is expected, according to what the Deputy Regional Head of Infrastructure and Networks of Central Macedonia Paris Billias from the podium of the 5th Prodexpo North conference. held in Thessaloniki.

It is reminded that the aforementioned project concerns interventions that are planned to be done from Kalochori to Angelochori, while the unification of the coastal front concerns seven municipalities: Delta, Ampelokipon-Menemeni, Thessaloniki, Kalamaria, Pylaia-Chortiatis, Thermis.
“In the past, the project may have seemed like a utopia, but I can assure you that it will be implemented with persistent, steady and careful steps. The implementation effort is in a countdown and we are ready to pass to the stage of its implementation “, Mr. Billias noted, inter alia.
The plan, as he added, includes the neglected western part of Thessaloniki, where we will implement a study prepared by the National Center for Habitats and Wetlands, which provides for the creation of a large Metropolitan Western Park (in the lagoon of Kalochori). Among other things, he said that a fishing shelter and a pedestrian and bicycle route from the lagoon to the area of Dendropotamos will be created.
