Bank shares are in sharp decline on the Athens Stock Exchange amid a negative climate in foreign markets.
The General Price Index was falling by 1.92%, at 13:00, reaching 807.14 points, with a turnover of 55 million euros.
The index of high capitalization decreased by 1.83%, while the index of medium capitalization decreased by 1.64%.
Of the high-capitalization shares, the shares of Sarantis (+ 2.10%), OTE (+ 0.49%) and PPA (+ 0.39%) recorded the largest increase.
On the contrary, the biggest drop is recorded by the shares of National Bank (-4.82%), Alpha Bank (-4.50%), Piraeus Bank (-4.42%) and Eurobank (-3.91%).
Of the sub-indices, the indices of Health (+ 5.55%) and Telecommunications (+ 0.49%) increased, while the largest losses are recorded by the indices of Banks (-4.29%) and Financial Services (-2.23%).
The largest trading volume is presented by Eurobank and Alpha Bank with 7,094,471 and 4,968,331 shares, respectively.
The highest value of transactions is recorded by National Bank with 7.775 million euros and Eurobank with 5.995 million euros.
25 stocks are up, 73 are down and 17 are flat.
The biggest increase is recorded by the shares: Nafpaktos Spinning Mills of + 17.59% and Ktima Lazaridis + 7.60%.
The biggest drop is recorded by the shares: Vioter -6.31% and Ilida -5.08%.
