
The framework of measures to support households and businesses that the government will announce next week was outlined by the Greek government spokesman, Mr Giannis Economou. As he said, the government will do its best to mitigate the effects of the price-gouging
As for electricity and gas bills, he noted that not only will support continue, but it will also be strengthened.
Regarding the price of petrol, he stressed that “it has skyrocketed”, pointing out that the Greek government is going to intervene in the issue of the current hike in prices.
Mr. Economou announced that, by the end of the week, the financial support measures to households will be announced. “A large part of the losses is going to be replaced and the households will ne able to cope with the price-gouging,” he said.
Finally,regarding the Prime Minister’s meeting tomorrow with the Turkish Presidsent, Mr Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the government spokesman, Mr Kostas Skrekas, speaking to Skai channel stressed that “Greece is going with confidence to this meeting, because in the last two years our geopolitical and geostrategic footprint has been greatly strengthened and the positions of Greece are in accordance with the international law”.
