The amendment, which obliges companies importing, trading, selling and distributing goods to submit stocks of their seven basic products, should in no way be related to the possibility of imposing a ceiling on either quantity or price and there is full sufficiency in the market, said the Secretary General of Trade and Consumer Protection, Sotiris Anagnostopoulos.

Referring to the imposition of a ceiling by some supermarket chains on products such as sunflower oil and flour, he said that we are talking about retail stores and it is logical not to sell large quantities.

As he said, the concern about the developments of the war has led to a tripling of the demand for some goods, but without the question of sufficiency.

Mr. Anagnostopoulos pointed out, among other things, speaking to ANT1 tv that there are phenomena of profiteering, but they are very limited and in any case the corresponding fines are imposed.
