Jet2.com and Jet2holidays give a vote of confidence in the Greek tourism market, announcing a very large reinforcement of their program for the 2022 summer period, with the allocation of more than half a million seats in Greece compared to the summer season 2019, an increase of τηε order of 86%.
As a result of this development, the leading airline and tour operator in the United Kingdom has for sale more than 1.1 million seats from the United Kingdom to Greece for the summer of 2022.
At a joint event held today at Athens International Airport, the CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, Steve Heapy, spoke about the company’s growth in Greece, as well as the company’s ongoing commitment to a further successful course. The company’s ambitious plans include the launch of flights and city break packages to Athens for the first time this summer. The CEO of Athens International Airport, Giannis Paraschis, welcomed this development and underlined the relationship with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays as an indicative example of the upward trend in traffic at Athens Airport, as the trip recovers from the effects of the Covid pandemic. 19.
The extended program of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays includes flights from 10 bases in the United Kingdom to 15 Greek destinations (Athens, Corfu, Chania, Heraklion, Cephalonia, Thessaloniki, Kos, Kalamata, Lesvos, Mykonos, Preveza, Rhodes, Skiathos, Santorini and Zakynthos). In total, Jet2holidays will operate in approximately 175 resorts in 20 Greek destinations this summer, with 270 weekly itineraries during peak times, providing its customers with amazing flexibility to enjoy the Greek sun.
Accommodation
For the choice of accommodation, Jet2holidays hosts more than 1,100 2-5 star hotels and 400 villas in Greece this summer, which gives its customers unparalleled flexibility and range of choice.
As well as bringing more leisure travelers to Greece than ever before, this very large flight schedule also provides Greeks with more opportunities to fly to the UK than ever before with Europe’s leading airline based on Trip Advisor (Belfast International, Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle and London Stansted).
Extensions
The expansion of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays for the summer of 2022 includes Athens as a new destination, with 4 weekly flights between the Greek capital and Birmingham and Manchester airports from April 14 (2 weekly flights from each base).
Including these 2 new routes to Athens, Jet2.com / Jet2holidays will operate a total of 8 new routes between the United Kingdom and Greece this year. The other new destinations are:
* Edinburgh to Skiathos
* Edinburgh to Santorini
* Edinburgh to Preveza
* Edinburgh to Halkidiki
* Bristol to Halkidiki
* Glasgow to Kos
