“From now on, digital platforms have an obligation to provide delivery staff with motorbikes, protective helmets and appropriate professional attire for their movements,” the Greek government spokesperson, Mr Yiannis Economou, commented in a Twitter post, on Wednesday.
Referring to recent legislation requiring online delivery platforms, especially of food, to provide their delivery staff with essential safety equipment, he said this corrected a long-standing injustice against workers in the delivery sector.
