Industrial production in Greece rose by 4.8 percent in February this year compared with the same period in 2021, with manufacturing production rising 7.9 percent, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Friday.
Specifically, the industrial production index rose 4.8 percent in February 2022 after increasing by 4.3 percent on an annual basis in the corresponding month of 2021. The development was attributed to a 7.9-percent hike in manufacturing production (reflecting a 49.6-percent rise in the production of leather goods, a 42.7-percent hike in clothing, a 33.2-percent rise in printing, a 32.7-percent hike in furniture manufacturing and a 32-percent hike in the manufacturing of electrical equipment.
The water production index eased by a marginal 0.1 percent; the electricity production index fell by 3.9 percent and the mining production index fell by 10.7 percent in February 2022.
In the first two months of 2022, industrial production rose by 2.2 percent, compared with the corresponding period in 2021, while the seasonally-adjusted index rose by 2 percent in February 2022 from January 2022.
