90.3% of year-long operating hotels were open in April with an average occupancy of 48.7%, according to the Institute for Tourism Research and Forecasting.
The Hellenic Chamber of Hotels has assigned to ITRF the conduct of a weekly panel survey exclusively for hotels of continuous operation in mountainous areas and cities, to capture the basic parameters of average price and occupancy in this part of the hotel industry.
The results for April 2022 are as follows:
TOTAL HOTELS FOR CONTINUOUS OPERATION
• Percentage of open hotels: 90.3%
• Average occupancy in open hotels: 48.7%
• Average fullness with reduction in all hotels of continuous operation: 40.8%
• Average price for a double room: 62 €
MOUNTAIN HOTELS FOR CONTINUOUS OPERATION
• Percentage of open hotels: 90.1%
• Average occupancy in open hotels: 37.7%
• Average fullness with reduction in all mountain hotels continuous operation: 34.3%
• Average price for a double room: 72 €
CONTINUOUS OPERATION HOTELS
• Percentage of open hotels: 90.4%
• Average occupancy in open hotels: 51.0%
• Average occupancy with reduction in all city continuous operation hotels: 45.1%
• Average price for a double room: 60 €
The purpose of this study is to monitor the performance of key hotel parameters on a weekly basis to record the effects of pandemics and other factors on their results.
