As for the flights at the country’s airports, according to the statistics of the Civil Aviation Service, they amounted to 89,690, of which 50,059 were domestic and 39,631 international, showing an increase of 103%, compared to the corresponding period of 2021 when they took place. 44,185 flights.
The comparison with 2019
Comparing the statistics with the four months of January / April 2019, when there were no restrictions due to the pandemic, where the flights were 99,164, there is a drop of -9.6% in aircraft traffic in the first four months of this year. There is a decrease of -22.5% in the total passenger traffic in relation to the four months of January / April 2019, -the passengers at that time were 10.4 million.

The provisional statistics of the CAA for the passenger traffic of the airports in April 2022 show the following:
The total number of passengers handled amounted to 3,591,241, showing an increase of 555.2% compared to the corresponding period of 2021 where 548,102 passengers had been handled.
Flights to all airports in the country amounted to 33,367, of which 15,419 were domestic and 17,948 international, showing an increase of 153%, compared to the corresponding period of April 2021 where 13,191 flights were operated.
In particular, for the arrivals of passengers of foreign flights in April 2022 there was an increase of 1,179.8% corresponding to 1,299,571 passengers, compared to April 2021 when the arrivals abroad were 101,541.
Three years later
Comparing the provisional statistics with April 2019 when the flights were 33,727, this April there is a decrease of 1.1% in aircraft traffic. In the total passenger traffic (traffic of departures and arrivals) which was 3,745,671 in April 2019, now for the same period examined there is a drop of 4.1%. Regarding the arrivals of passenger flights abroad, in April 2019 it was 1,380,543, now for the same period there is a decrease of 5.9%.
