
Turnover in accommodation and food service skyrocketed during the first quarter of the year.
According to the Hellenic Statistsical Authority-ELSTAT, for the total of enterprises in Accommodation Activities(division 55 of NACE Rev.2 classification), the turnover in the first quarter 2022 amounted to 283,075,798 euro, recording an increase of 204.9% in comparison with the first quarter 2021, when the respective turnover was 92,855,293 euro. For the enterprises of the Regional Units with a contribution to the total turnover of the year 2021 greater than 1.0%, the largest increase in the turnover of the first quarter 2022 compared to the first quarter of 2021 was recorded in the Regional Unit Rodos (560.1%) and the smallest increase (66.7%) was recorded in the Regional Unit Kos.
For the total of enterprises in Food and Beverage Service Activities (division 56 of NACE Rev.2 classification), the turnover in the first quarter 2022 amounted to 1,117,240,187 euro, recording an increase of 120.9% in comparison with the first quarter 2021, when the respective turnover was 505,773,774 euro. For the enterprises of the Regional Units with a contribution to the total turnover of the year 2021 greater than 1.0% (Table 1), the largest increase in the turnover of the first quarter 2022 compared to the first quarter of 2021 was recorded in the Regional Unit Thira (350.2%) and the smallest increase (86.1%) was recorded in the
Regional Unit Iraklio.

For the enterprises in Accommodation Activities (division 55 of NACE Rev.2 classification), obliged to double-entry bookkeeping, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in March 2022 amounted to 91,897,549 euro, recording an increase of 240.7% in comparison with March 2021, when the respective turnover was 26,969,308 euro.
For the enterprises in Food and Beverage Service Activities (division 56 of NACE Rev.2 classification), obliged to double-entry bookkeeping, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in March 2022 amounted to 123,882,427 euro, recording an increase of 115.2% in comparison with March 2021, when the respective turnover was 57,555,388 euro.

For the enterprises in Accommodation and Food and Beverage Service Activities (divisions 55 and 56 of NACE Rev. 2 classification), obliged to double-entry bookkeeping, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in March 2022 amounted to 215,779,976 euro, recording an increase of 155.3% in comparison with March 2021, when the respective turnover was 84,524,696 euro. For the enterprises of the Regional Units with a contribution to the total turnover of the year 2021 greater than 1.0% (Table 1), the biggest increase in the turnover of March 2022 compared with March 2021 was recorded in the Regional Unit Zakynthos (435.8%) and the smallest increase was recorded in the Regional Unit Iraklio (120.9%).
