Initiatives and actions in order to strengthen the interconnection of technical education with the institutions of merchant marine and shipping companies are sought by the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Worldwide Industrial & Marine Association – WIMA, according to what was stated by the president of the Piraeus Chamber of Crafts Giorgos Papamanolis-Dozas to seniors of the 4th Naval Vocational High School of Piraeus “Nikos Kavvadias”.
The problem with the lack of Greek officers – engine room and bridge – but also the lack of specialized technical hands in the shipbuilding and repair activity concerns the companies-members of the Piraeus Chamber of Crafts, at a time when the demand for technical and shipping professions and specialties has increased rapidly.
The Piraeus Chamber of Crafts and WIMA appeal to young people to see with open horizons and positive thinking their professional and personal development through the shipping and technical professions, said the president of the Piraeus Chamber of Crafts.
As George Papamanolis-Dozas said, technical and maritime education are decisive factors for the development of our national economy.
