The ultra-luxury Scenic Eclipse, the flagship for the Australia-based Scenic Group, will make its first-ever visit to Piraeus over the coming period, one of some 750 cruise-ships of all sizes that the Piraeus Port Authority (PPA) expects to host at Greece’s biggest and busiest port this year.
The vessel, billed by its operators as the world’s first «six-star» mega-yacht, will be followed by Royal Caribbean’s gargantuan Odyssey of the Seas, a vessel able to handle 5,500 holiday makers, as well as Celebrity Beyond, Celebrity Cruises newest and most luxurious cruise-ship.
According PPA, 66 percent of the cruise-ships expected have designated Piraeus as their homeport, with more cruise operators expected to follow.
